THINK LAB | CHALLENGING ASSUMPTIONS

Today’s activity was quite interesting, there was no warm-up for today but we were briefed about what we are going to do today.

We were showed this cutting chai and asked about what all assumptions do we have with it? At first, everyone was very confused but then all for us were flooded with ideas. It’s hot, needs ras along, ginger is important , has sugar, geographical area affects the taste, taste is better on rainy days, needs snacks on a rainy day with it, has a specific pan, tapri chai is better and so much more.

We were also told about “Chaayos”, how a couple somewhat 10 years back had an idea to sell chai in a shop rather than a stall or somewhere else, instead of a cup they decided “kulhad” and “paper” packaging which totally blew up the customers mind, the idea was not only unique but totally out of the box from the assumptions people made about tea packaging. Even people found it more hygienic rather than the tapri chai and there was no looking back for that brand, now they have their outlets all around.

MAIN ACTIVITY

We had no warm-up activity this time. As always we were divided into groups and I was accompanied by Esha, Harmeet, Adhira and ikpreet.

We were given a specific food item and was supposed to represent the following:

• Assumptions and challenges of that food product

• Brand/logo name and design

• Tagline

• Poster

• 3-D model

The food item assigned to us was “dhokla” what an irony I really don’t like dhokla but got that as a food item but eventually, it was hemanshi mam’s favourite.

The main plan we were thinking about Was to take dhokla shape as a challenge and serve it as “small cubes”, sort of in a barbecue way but when we discussed it with Mam she felt that it wasn’t that exciting and she was just discussing randomly with us about our idea and suddenly my mind clicked with an idea and that idea was “ why not follow the cake jar trend?”, I was so excited to tell this idea to my group members and Himanshi mam And I just asked them that “can we like serve dhokla in a jar?” like cake jars, let’s introduce “dhokla jars” and there it was Mam said, “you hit the bullseye” and we started working on that idea. We divided our work with one another.

Esha was working on the logo, ikpreet was working on the 3D model and I was working on the assumption mind map, the poster and the final idea picture and Harmeet and Adhira were working on the typing stuff.

We kept the product name as “DUKKIA JAR”

You must be thinking what DUKKIA is? Eventually, dhokla was called as DUKKIA before.

REFLECTION

I just loved today’s activity. I am someone who enjoys making digital posters and things like that and I got the chance to showcase that. We even had a peer discussion and got reviews about our product and everyone just loved our idea and work. Mam felt we can just start our “DUKKIA JAR” idea and it looks too real and actually a product and we all felt so delighted hearing that.We teammates had good communication between us. Compared to the last few activities this was my most favourite ones.

ACHIEVEMENTS

• Good communication between the teammates

• Well represented work

STRUGGLES

Time management was the main struggle we all faced

LEARNING MANTRA

Always discuss your ideas with your peers , teammates, teachers or

whoever you are working with.

THANK YOU,HAVE A GREAT DAY!

Recording is good. Perhaps, reflection is incomplete. We have asked you to reflect on three things in this activity. Please add more.
